Garrett with Machine

Meet The Dr.

Dr. Garrett Teel was born and raised in Lincoln, NE where he attended Pius X High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Dr. Teel has always been drawn to the profession of dentistry.

His grandfather, Dr. Bryan Melvin, practiced in Lincoln, NE for 40 years. He grew up watching his grandfather work in his laboratory and from a young age was fascinated by the handiwork involved with restoring a patient’s dentition. His love of science, problem-solving, and handiwork projects led him to attend Creighton University School of Dentistry where he graduated in 2021 at the top of his class.

He and his wife, Emma, and daughter, Tilly, recently moved to the Fremont community and are excited to raise their family here. Dr. Teel enjoys spending time with his family, running, playing acoustic guitar and singing with his church’s band.

We approach your dental health with compassion and understanding. We help our patients make healthy decisions about their oral care by explaining our findings in an easy-to-understand way and then providing all options for treatment.

Why Laser?

We are here to change what it means to “go to the dentist”.

Uses

Similar to other laser technologies, the wavelength of the dental laser plays a significant role in determining the beam’s intensity and its specific application. We only use one type of laser and that is the CO2 Laser. While it is true that there are multiple types of lasers with different applications, the CO2 Laser is unique in that it is the “do it all” type. Lasers have a multitude of uses, ranging from simple to complex, such as:

  • Used for both hard and soft tissue procedures
  • Treating gum disease and inflammation
  • Treating nighttime snoring non-invasively and without the need for clunky appliances
  • Detecting cavities
  • Preparing teeth for fillings, crowns, and onlays
  • Teeth whitening
  • Relieving tooth sensitivity

Benefits

Laser dentistry offers several advantages over traditional dental techniques, which is why we prefer to use lasers in many procedures. For instance, CO2 lasers can be used for both hard and soft tissue procedures with greater precision and efficiency while also minimizing bleeding and sometimes eliminating the need for sutures. Additionally, laser dentistry provides the following benefits:

  • Reduced treatment times and fewer visits
  • Faster recovery and healing periods
  • Reduced pain and often no need for anesthesia
  • Safe for patients for all ages, works great with children!
